You may well have been to a previous Vortex Event, some previous events have included:

I'd like to welcome you to the new Vortex Events website. Thanks to all the people I have badgered into (attending and) being involved in my various events, in 2008, my favourite charities have made a tidy sum:

£1094.00 was donated to Cancer Research UK after the closure of the RoS Legend accounts.

£3302.69 in total has / will be donated to Steps: The Leicestershire Conductive Education Centre by the end of the year. This includes the remainder of the RoS Legend money, a donation from Hyde Fundraisers, and the proceeds from The Steps Sci-fi day in August and TellyNation 2 in September, as well a raffle held at the National Space Centre's Exterminate 45 event in November.

This is an exceptional sum for a year of Vortex Events, mainly due to the closure of the RoS Legend accounts at the end of the series of 3 events co-produced with Sue Matthews of Silver Arrow Archery.

I have plans for more events in the near future, some nearer than others, but I'm taking careful stock of economic conditions and available time before committing to anything.

Vortex Events will return in 2009!

Vortex Events have been organising fan conventions and events since 1993 with the emphasis on fun and creativity for television fans. From the early days of our Doctor Who tours, through our past involvement with the Cult TV conventions, right up to date with the Robin of Sherwood conventions and TellyNation events.

As a non-profit group, our nominated charity is: Steps, The Leicestershire Conductive Education Centre.

We have now invested in a wide range of Audio Visual equipment (including a full set of mobile disco equipment) which we can make available to other event organisers for a donation toward the upkeep of the equipment.
